When can I return to my social life after orthognathic surgery?

The first week is a bit challenging because of swelling, pain, and a period of liquid nutrition. However, most of the swelling subsides within 2-3 weeks, and the patient can return to their daily routine. Returning to work or school is generally possible after the third week. For strenuous physical activities like sports, it’s recommended to wait at least 2-3 months. The full aesthetic appearance takes between 6 months and 1 year to fully develop.
