How is impacted tooth surgery performed?

The surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia. The gum tissue overlying the tooth is lifted, some bone is removed if necessary, and the tooth is removed in pieces. This method minimizes damage to the surrounding tissue. The area is then stitched closed. In some cases, general anesthesia may be preferred, especially if multiple impacted teeth are planned to be removed in one session.
