Dr. Burçin Arıcan Alpay graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry in 2010. She completed her PhD in Endodontics at Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry in 2015. Between 2015 and 2017, she worked as an endodontist in several clinics and prepared question banks for the DUS exam (Dentistry Specialization Exam). In 2017, she returned to academia and started working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics at Istanbul Okan University Faculty of Dentistry. In 2021, she started working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics at Istanbul Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Dentistry and received the title of Associate Professor in 2022. She currently works at Istanbul Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Dentistry.
She completed a certificate program on Stem Cells at Harvard University Medical School in 2026. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence. As of 2025, he is a founding partner of the Bementor Academy Education and Consulting platform, supporting and mentoring the education of dentists. He has participated in TÜBİTAK projects with a genetic basis on artificial intelligence and the diversity of intracanal microorganisms in the Turkish population. He is a speaker at many national and international congresses. He has many publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals.
His special areas of interest include: microscopic dentistry applications, microscope-assisted endodontics, root canal re-treatment, removal of fractured instruments from root canals, regenerative endodontic treatment, correction of complications during root canal treatment, periapical surgery, root canal treatment of teeth with anatomical malformations, antibiotics and pharmacology, and the use of artificial intelligence in dentistry.
